Edible Jewelry?

Yup...that's right! Edible Jewelry. Wendy Mahr has come up with this combo...chocolate on jewelry.

How about something that just looks edible and won't melt?

Why Buy Handmade?

Buying Handmade makes for better gift-giving.

The giver of a handmade gift has avoided the parking lots and long lines of the big chain stores in favor of something more meaningful. If the giver has purchased the gift, s/he feels the satisfaction of supporting an artist or crafter directly. The recipient of the handmade gift receives something that is one-of-a-kind, and made with care and attention that can
be seen and touched. It is the result of skill and craftsmanship that is absent in the world of large-scale manufacturing.

Buying handmade is better for people.

The ascendancy of chain store culture and global manufacturing has left us dressing, furnishing, and decorating alike. We are encouraged to be consumers, not producers, of our own culture. Our ties to the local and human sources of our goods have been lost. Buying handmade helps us reconnect.

Buying handmade is better for the environment.

The accumulating environmental effects of mass production are a major cause of global warming and the poisoning of our air, water and soil. Every item you make or purchase from a small-scale independent artist or crafter strikes a small blow to the forces of mass production

The Handmade Pledge collected over ten thousand signatures in its 2 short months of existence this holiday season. That's ten thousand people who stayed out of the malls and gave meaningful, one-of-a-kind, handmade gifts to thier friends and families. And that's countless thousands more who were lucky enough to receive those gifts!

Etsy's online magazine, The Storque, is making a video documentary in conjunction with the Handmade Pledge. Your videos are welcome! Read all about it here.

What do I want to accomplish here?

Well, I guess a whole bunch of different things! Here are a few for starters:

  • Keep everyone updated on my latest creations
  • Post some tutorials
  • Let you see what I'm working on
  • Get feedback on my stuff
  • Share ideas with other crafters
I don't think that's asking a lot!

Let me know if there is anything you would like to see here and I'll see what I can do.

Wow! My first post....

Hi everyone,

I've decided to start a blog...why not? Everyone else has!

I hope to use this blog to post updates on my journey with Fyrestorm Creations and all the crafty stuff I do!

First, I guess I should tell you what who I am and what I do. Most of this info is on my 'about me' page, but this should fill in the blanks.

I am a WAHM (Work At Home Mom) with an almost 5 year old daughter. I have been crafting most of my life and I finally have the chance to make my passion my job.

I create with polymer clay. I make themed jewelry out of these creations with the addition of glass, metal, lampwork and crystal beads.

My line includes:
  • Adult Size Themed Charm Bracelets
  • Child Sized Theme Bracelets
  • Earrings
  • Chain Maille
  • Knit and Crochet Stitch Markers
  • Finished Knit and Crochet items
  • Personalized Jewelry
  • Pregnancy and Birth related items
  • Croc Charms
I currently sell my items through My Web Site, Ebay, Etsy and I have also started a page on Facebook. You too can become a fan!

I do both wholesale and retail.

I hope you enjoy looking around.
